In late 2011 and early 2012, a series of conversations changed the course of my life. Leaving my home place of northwest California, I moved to Texas to care for my grandaddy, living with dementia. Then I moved to Utila, Honduras, where I worked on an organic fruit farm in the jungle and collaborated with artists from across Latin America to create a community space for art and education.
